Old Main Renovation: Blending History with Innovation

Honoring the Past, Building the Future

The revitalization of Old Main at Dakota College at Bottineau is a shining example of preserving history while creating a future-focused educational space. Built in 1906 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this two-story building was closed in 2006 and slated for demolition. Thanks to the combined efforts of local advocates and state legislature support, it has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility for the new Center for Rural Health Education. The project provides cutting-edge labs, classrooms, and administrative spaces for the college’s growing nursing program while maintaining the building's historic integrity. With EAPC leading architectural, interior design, and engineering efforts, Old Main now stands as a beacon of innovation and preservation for future healthcare professionals in Bottineau, ND, and the surrounding region.
