Sorkness Hall
Revitalized Historic Hall Merges Tradition with Modern Engineering
Our firm skillfully merged historic charm with modern functionality in the renovation and expansion of an early 20th-century building. The project added technical education and engineering classrooms and labs, and a remodel that preserved the building’s original architectural essence. A new entry now serves both the engineering department and the ground floor, enhancing accessibility and flow. Updates included the installation of a new HVAC system, a natural gas-fired boiler, and an air-cooled chiller, all designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing hydronic system. The thoughtful exterior design maintains the historical integrity while addressing contemporary educational needs.
