The Oyate Health Center, a tribally-owned and operated primary care clinic serving the Lakota Nation, features 139 exam rooms and emphasizes healing through purposeful design elements depicting star knowledge and geography. This facility, operated by the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board, incorporates sustainable MEP engineering strategies, including a 174 KW solar panel array, ice storage for chilled water, and condensing boilers. Designed under LEED v4 BD+C for Healthcare and LEED Gold certified, the center also includes electric car charging stations and extensive green spaces.
