City Hall Redesign Enhances Urban Landscape with Modern Museum Addition
Featuring a significant expansion and remodeling of Tioga's City Hall, this project incorporates the new Norseman Museum and manages to maintain the city's administrative operations throughout. Demolishing parts of the existing structure, the redesign involved remodeling 1,730 SF and adding an extra 8,900 SF. Constructed with column beams, steel joists, metal stud walls, and a metal roof, the updated facility includes exhibit spaces, an office, a meeting room, a laboratory, and support spaces. The design carefully integrates with the contrasting architectural styles of the adjacent new police station and the original city hall on a compact city lot, creating a harmonious block appearance with a brick façade and entry canopy that draws elements from both neighboring buildings for a distinct yet complementary aesthetic.
