Farewell to Lori Bakken: 17 Years of Leadership, Legacy, and Love

A Tribute to Lori Bakken: Celebrating 17 Years of Visionary Leadership and Heartfelt Impact

As EAPC Architects Engineers bids farewell to our beloved Director of Marketing, Lori Bakken, we reflect on the extraordinary legacy she leaves after 17 remarkable years. Lori’s career at EAPC began as a team of one, fueled by an unrelenting passion for storytelling and a determination to elevate our brand. Today, thanks to her leadership, that "team of one" has grown into a 10-strong, award-winning marketing powerhouse, setting the standard for excellence in our industry.

Lori’s contributions to EAPC extend far beyond her professional achievements. She is the kind of leader who inspires, uplifts, and encourages everyone fortunate enough to work with her. To know Lori is to love Lori. She embodies everything one could hope for in a boss: compassionate, fiercely dedicated, and always the first to celebrate the success of others. Whether rallying her team during a challenging project or cheering from the sidelines as they reached new milestones, Lori’s unwavering support has left an indelible mark on each of us.

Her influence resonates not only within our walls but also across the industry, earning her the respect and admiration of clients, colleagues, and peers alike. Lori’s passion for her work has been the heart of EAPC’s marketing efforts, and her efforts have helped shape how we share our story with the world.

True to her character and unwavering determination, Lori set a goal for herself more than 30 years ago: to build a fulfilling career and retire by the age of 55. With her trademark focus, passion, and drive, she achieved exactly that. Lori’s ability to balance ambition with grace has been an inspiration to all who know her.

EAPC President Alan Dostert shared, “I fondly remember a pivotal moment when Lori had to choose between continuing her journey with EAPC or pursuing a different path. In an incredible show of commitment, she chose to stay with us—something that even required her to take a pay cut at the time. Thank goodness she did! I hope, in some small way, we’ve repaid that trust by fostering a culture that Lori herself has been so instrumental in shaping—a culture of closeness, teamwork, and an unwavering passion for serving our clients.

"I've always said there is no greater cheerleader for EAPC than Lori Bakken. She brings a positive attitude to work every day, no matter the circumstances. She's built an incredible team over these 17 years, and they will do well because of her guidance and leadership. Best of luck in retirement, Lori—we will miss your positive presence terribly!” added EAPC’s CEO Jim Tyler.

Although we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing Lori will now have the time to embrace the people and passions she loves most. She looks forward to cherishing precious moments with her husband, Glen, their two children and their spouses, her grandchildren, and her beloved mother. Whether she’s enjoying a glass of vino to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, attending F1 races, or cheering on her Oregon Ducks, Lori is sure to savor this next chapter to the fullest.

Lori, thank you for 17 incredible years. You’ve not only built a legacy but a family here at EAPC. May your retirement be as fulfilling, joyful, and full of love as the impact you’ve made on all of us. You’ve earned it!

With love and gratitude,

The EAPC Family
