EAPC is proud to announce a significant achievement within our Industrial Sector team: Mat Schmidt, Industrial Sector Design Lead, has officially earned his Professional Piping Designer (PPD) Level IV certification.
This accomplishment makes Mat the first designer in EAPC’s industrial market sector to reach the highest level of SPED’s PPD certification program—an extraordinary milestone that reflects his deep expertise and longstanding commitment to excellence in plant and piping design. He scored an impressive 93% on the exam.
In addition to his certification achievement, Mat is also being considered for a position on the Society of Piping Engineers & Designers (SPED) Advisory Committee, a recognition reserved for professionals with exceptional industry insight and leadership.
The Society of Piping Engineers & Designers (SPED) created the Professional Piping Designer Certification Program as an industry-recognized, third-party verification of advanced process piping skills. The Level IV certification is tailored for designers with a minimum of 20 years of cumulative experience within the past 25 years, specifically in plant layout and piping design. This top-tier certification emphasizes supervisory and managerial competencies and builds upon the technical foundations established in Levels I through III.
