New Ulm Medical Center Surgery and SPD Addition
With increasing demand and complexity for the delivery of rural healthcare, this complex addition and renovations allow the award-winning critical access hospital to chart its path well into the future.
This multi-phase renovation and expansion included a 2,500 SF addition to a multiple-era building, requiring innovative subsurface stabilization and creative structural solutions. The building addition allowed NUMC to develop a new, state-of-the-art sterile processing department.
Once the SPD was operationalized, the previously used space was combined with adjacent storage spaces to create a brand-new, dedicated cesarian section room. Additional work in this project included phased renovation of two existing operating rooms, upgrades to most of the prep/recovery spaces, enhanced nursing support, and a new standalone endoscopy procedural area.
