Williston Enhances Fire Services with State-of-the-Art Shemorry Station
The Williston Rural Fire W.E. Shemorry Station, funded by a public safety sales tax, represents a significant step forward for local fire services, which previously operated from rented spaces without a dedicated facility. This new station includes a single-story section with offices, training areas, a kitchen, day room, fitness room, and sleeping quarters. The bay area features 12 bays, a wash bay, hose tower, and ample storage and mechanical support spaces. Designed in close collaboration with the fire chief to meet a comprehensive wishlist, the facility not only centralizes operations but also pays tribute to William E. “Bill” Shemorry, a local firefighting pioneer, enhancing service readiness and honoring a significant local legacy.
