Webster Fire Station
Renovation Revitalizes Webster Fire Station with State-of-the-Art Upgrades
The Webster Fire Station underwent a significant renovation and addition, transforming an outdated and dilapidated facility into a modern fire station that now effectively serves the communities of Webster, Bristol, Roslyn, and Waubay. The project involved gutting the interior of the existing stout masonry structure, originally a service station, to reconfigure the space within the existing exterior shell. The renovation included demolishing large portions of the concrete floor slab to achieve a consistent elevation and installation of new plumbing and utilities. The updated layout features office space, meeting rooms, showers, bathrooms, laundry facilities, mechanical areas, storage, six apparatus bays, training areas, and a multi-purpose room. Additionally, the station received a new mechanical and electrical system, roof replacement, and enhanced insulation in the roof and exterior walls, saving the community nearly $1 million compared to the cost of constructing a new building.
