MHA Nation Emergency Operations Center and Three Affiliated Tribes Wildland Fire Management

Advanced Design Meets Critical Needs at New Emergency Response Facility

EAPC is honored to have partnered in creating the first fully staffed Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the nation specifically built for Indian Country. Developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this facility also integrates the Wildland Fire Program, enabling both departments to share resources and enhance operational efficiency.

This groundbreaking facility represents a pioneering advancement in Native American disaster management and fire suppression. Completed in February 2024 with a budget of $26.5 million, the center is designed for comprehensive coordination across various services and agencies. It features four vehicular apparatus bays, advanced training and conference spaces, a state-of-the-art situation room with storm shelter capabilities, and dedicated areas for public information and law enforcement dispatch. This center is vital in enhancing response and recovery efforts during natural and man-made emergencies, serving as a crucial hub on the Fort Berthold Reservation.
