Innovative Redesign Turns Fargo Speculative Shell into Multifunctional Facility
The Fargo Public Safety Building, originally a speculative 200' x 200' precast shell, was repurposed into a multifunctional facility, including a fire station and the City of Fargo EOC. Initially nondescript and industrial, the structure was transformed by adding a mezzanine and configuring distinct functional areas to utilize its open, flexible space effectively. Design enhancements included a carved-out entry void highlighted by red accents to improve public wayfinding and presence. The facility now accommodates administrative offices, training areas, and vehicle storage, adapting well to its various public safety roles.
