Juan earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Army University of Ecuador.
He first gained experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Derco Bass Group, reviewing and managing procedures and international codes for mechanical equipment and piping systems. Juan then became a Piping Engineer/Supervisor at SK Engineering & Construction, where he reviewed and validated construction drawings for piping systems and handled all aspects of piping construction activities, including site inspections. He then became a Mechanical Engineer/Project Lead at Petroecuador Public Government Company, where he supervised the design and construction of rotating and stationary mechanical equipment and managed QA/QC in each project.
After moving to Fargo in July 2022, Juan attended the Fargo Adult Learning Center to learn English. After completing his schooling, Juan began working as a Quality Auditor at Marvin Windows, where he was responsible for audits and training production associates.
Juan is excited to return to Mechanical Engineering with an added challenge. "I'm ready to do what I did in my country, but now in English. I'm ready for this challenge. I feel excited and confident to start with EAPC and continue learning."
Juan is excited to get some experience designing projects in a new climate and learning all there is to know about designing in the Midwest. "I have never made designs for the winter. We don't have that in South America, we only have two seasons -- hot and warm. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to getting experience with it." He is also interested in the sugar industry and is especially looking forward to building relationships in our region with American Crystal Sugar Company.
Juan is looking forward to beginning the process of becoming a licensed mechanical engineer in North Dakota.
In his free time, Juan enjoys as much time as he can outdoors with his wife and two daughters. He also plays guitar and was even in a rock band back home.
Welcome to EAPC, Juan!
