Jacob earned an Associate of Science degree from Northeast Community College, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Minnesota State University Mankato. Jacob passed his Fundamentals of Engineering exam and is looking forward to testing for his Professional Engineering license in the next 1-2 years.
Jacob first gained electrical experience as an Electrical Engineer Intern in Nebraska assisting in distribution line staking and design and performing cost-benefit and line loss analyses. Most recently, he worked as an Electrical Engineer, EIT at a top electrical and mechanical engineering contractor in Sioux Falls. In this position, he performed available fault current calculations, created electrical design packages, completed observation reports, and wrote project progress reports.
“Jacob is a very talented young engineer and can work on projects with very little input. Working with him previously, Jacob was able to manage many aspects of a very complicated project and communicate issues and opportunities to the owner. Jacob isn’t afraid to ask questions, nor does he shy away from working extra hours to get the job done. Jacob will be a great asset to helping grow and improve our electrical engineering team and EAPC as a whole.” – Nathan Brandt, Senior Electrical Engineer
In his new role at EAPC, Jacob says he is excited for the opportunity to work at a full-service firm where the engineering team works closely with other disciplines within the firm to complete projects. He is also looking forward to learning as much as he can about the field of engineering from others at the firm. “The ability to enact change [as an engineer] really excites me.”
In his free time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his fiancée, watching movies, and playing video games. He also likes to work on developing code.
