Charles earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 2019.
Throughout his career, Charles has held several key positions at various firms in Minnesota including Field Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and Design Lead. His work includes projects in California, Florida, Minnesota, and North Carolina.

After spending time at several larger companies over the years, Charles knew he wanted his next opportunity to give him more of that hometown feel. "It was trial by fire for me in my first position and I wanted something different. I like EAPC's small office in Bemidji, but the company as a whole is still growing."
In addition to his professional roles, Charles serves as the Chairman of the Sustainability Commission in Bemidji, a position he's held since December 2022. He is passionate about the environment and sustainability, and even walks or rides his bike to work most days.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Charles dove into renovating his home and eventually started his own carpentry business. He enjoys DIY projects, trail running, and working in his garden.
