EAPC is proud to announce a significant professional achievement within our Sioux Falls team

Matt Kirkwold has successfully attained his Professional Engineer (PE) license, marking a major milestone in his structural engineering career.

Matt’s journey in engineering, rooted in his childhood experiences in Sioux Falls, has been one of dedication and hard work. Growing up, he was often found on construction sites, learning residential framing from his father, and developing an early interest in the structural aspects of building. This curiosity led him from Roosevelt High School through to his studies at the School of Mines in Rapid City, where he received both his Bachelor and Master of Science.

Achieving the PE license, administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), required Matt to balance intensive study with his professional responsibilities at EAPC. Since joining our team in September 2021, Matt’s blend of practical experience and academic learning has significantly contributed to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

“Matt’s unwavering dedication and expertise are truly valued and have made a positive impact on both EAPC and our clients. Here’s to celebrating your professional success and to the ongoing positive contributions you bring to the profession and beyond!” – Sam Wilke, Structural Department Manager, Partner

Matt’s PE certification marks a transition toward more independent and challenging roles at EAPC, allowing him to leverage his expanded skills and knowledge on a wider range of projects. His commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is a source of inspiration and pride for our team.

Looking to the future, Matt aims to further his expertise and credentials, potentially pursuing advanced licensing such as the Structural Engineer (SE) license. His lifelong passion for structural engineering, sparked during his early days in Sioux Falls, continues to drive his aspirations and success in the field. EAPC is fortunate to have Matt as part of our team, as his most recent achievement reflects not just personal growth but also our collective commitment to fostering talent and expertise within our ranks.

Great job Matt!
